Opatija was once the resort of choice for European royalty with beautiful promenade by the sea. Surrounded by luxuriant evergreen vegetation there are hidden numerous secession buildings from 19th century – nowadays hotels. Opatija has not changed its mission throughout its history – it was created for rest and it still is one of the most famous tourist resorts in Croatia.
